Default Paddle Shifters

So those that have them, what are your thoughts on the paddle shifters? Think Hyundai can improve them any?

I'd like a more tactile feel to the buttons, but that's my only real gripe. The ability to use them while in automatic mode would be nice, but really once you get used to the pedal in that mode it's not really necessary (push mildly to drop one gear, punch it to drop two gears, and that's going to be much faster than screwing around with the paddles). Some will say they would be better if they were mounted on the steering column rather than the wheel, but really they're better off there. The only time you'll really use them is hooning around back roads or on a track, it's pretty ridiculous to drive an automatic around town using paddle shifters imho.

I've tried it. Not really impressed. There is about a 0.5 sec delay which is surprisingly annoying.

I feel that they should be mounted to the column rather than the wheel, also wished the shifts were more crisp while using them, and instead of having the computer upshift at redline let the tranny stay in the selected gear till it reaches a rev limiter say about 6750. These are just my opinions.

^Aren't they always mounted to the wheel? So when you turn the wheel the paddles are still in line with your hands. Otherwise it could be difficult to shift up or down around corners?

*Coming from someone who has only used paddle shifters once on a test drive*

I like them. The only problem I have with them is the delay that Darkshines629 mentioned. I use the paddle shifters whenever someone tries to race me to get that extra umph in the beginning

Removing the delay and extending the bottoms so that the option to tap the bottom to change gears would make them more useful while turning. Right now you need to use the shifter to make good shifts while turning.
