Default Lose sound quality with a LOC?

Will using a LOC cause any loss in audio quality or volume/DB's?

I experienced no loss of quality when I connected it for my tablet. It eliminated all alternator whine and made it much easier to listen to. No drop in volume either. I bought a cheap $9 Pyle LOC from Wal-Mart.
