.....then why do so many people spend so much time and money to make their cars look like other cars? Audi light strips, BMW angel eyes, etc

 

I assume you are talking about the LED strips, if so... "Audi light strips" are no longer for only Audi's. VW has them, Mercedes, Lexus, and Ford all have them (I'm sure their are more just cant think of any). They are overplayed now, still look good on Audi's IMO tho.



But to answer your question, Why do they do it, because they like the way it looks.. or to feel "cool"

 

I think it's not to make their cars look like other cars, but because that is the today's standard. LED's and LED strips are the future. BMW/Audi just implemented them first.



It's like Apple created the iphone and now every phone clearly and obviously followed their trend.

Blame accepted. When I was 19 I installed blue angel eyes and neons in my Tiburon. Do I regret? Highly.
