Genesis Free Mods
My brother used to own a DSM turbo eclipse and was saying that there were a bunch of free mods you could do it to give it a few extra ponies. Is there anything like that we can do for our Gens?
You could do the possibly ill-advised wastegate mod. Lol... The idea is legit, but I don't think anyone has proven if it actually does anything on the Gen.
This won't get you ponies, but you can also remove your intake silencer, and flip the mini-silencer cuppy thingy that's next to the filter box. You'll hear the turbo spool better, and you'll hear the BPV.
Sort of free mod, is if you aren't using premium fuel, use it. In raw terms, the Gens ECU scales power with fuel. You do get more kick with premium, than with regular.
Thats all I can think of right now.

I believe Grimmspeed posted the dyno gains of the wastegate mod long ago. It gave something like a 13lb-ft gain but also created a dip in the powerband.

Cut off Exhaust after the DP with a Hack Saw for the 2lT, and the V-6 just drive back to dealer for a 2lT!!!
Also lose weight, makes your car really fast, every 5 pounds is like a 50 shot of NAWZ! Learned that from the Honda Boys!

Yep, remove weight.
I'm not saying these are good ideas, but: delete mesh from the MAF, JB weld the engine mounts (almost free), home depot lip (less than $10), exhaust system delete, interior delete, air filter delete... in fact...

Almost no cash was spent on that build, and they ended up running down the 1320 a whole two seconds faster than when they started. Neat!

Throttle body coolant bypass
Keeps hot coolant from going through your throttle body, lowering IAT. By how much, I do not know. Gains? Who knows. Just remember to get reverse the bypass when it gets cold!
