Can you use Redline MT90 in a Genesis?
A tech at my Hyundai dealer said its not recommended and you should ONLY use Hyundai Genuine tranny oil. He said our cars are not meant to handle redline fluids.

Can't speak for the Genesis, but myself and alot of the Accent guys have been using Redline MT-90 in our cars with great results. I found the shifts actually got a bit smoother with the Redline in it and love it.

What does he mean by "not meant to handle"? Did hyundai design the trans to be incompatible with a specific companies fluid? Err right. What ratings does MT-90 have and what does the car call for? I do not like the idea of universal fluids for the trans, manual or automatic.. but if that trans wants the weight (GL4 or 5?), etc of MT-90. why would it not work?
If the trans wants a GL4 90 weight oil and that is what hyundai uses, what does the hyundai fluid have that Redline doesn't? Baby seal blood?
If you were using generic GL3/4/5 40w120 that had a label "Good for EVREYA THANG!" then I would say he has a point.
