Whats the biggest FMIC you can fit behind the stock bumper? Does anyone know off hand?

do you want to cut out the bumper back side or no cutting of anything. also for what car? sometimes the front crash bars has to come out to fit a good sized intercooler!

the one CXracing uses with their bumper support seems to be pretty tight from what i have seen. can't recall the actual size of it. check on there site..

also.. its not about how big of an FMIC you can cram behind the bumper. its about matching a good FMIC to the turbo you are using for maximum efficiency. a dinky turbo with a HUGE FMIC will not be the best combination.

yeah... what exactly is your HP goal with the largest intercooler, and what internals are you going to do to get there?

AGP is fairly large.

This is Frank - he's putting down 342hp in his 2.0 Automatic. I think it's the fastest 2.0 A/T in the U.S. at the moment. Not sure what intercooler.

Here is a pic of my intercooler, Due to size I had to ditch the crash bar and actually do some trimming on the back of the bumper.

Rather than get hung up on "size"...worry about volume, efficiency and pressure drop.

Pick up 'Maximum Boost' by Corkey Bell. Check your Local Library, Amazon/Local Book Store.

the book is available in PDF format around the internet for free, however, the author and publisher have NOT authorized this, so do so @ your own risk.

That book will teach you what you need to know regarding turbocharger size, intercooler size, etc.

Also, Browse around http://autospeed.com/ (for example http://autospeed.com/cms/title_The-W...1/article.html)

It's a site from Australia, but the guy who write's it knows his stuff, and shows a TON of EASY, CHEAP ways to improve your car (N/A or Turbo).

He reviews factory intercoolers (can get em cheap compared to aftermarket intercoolers), how to improve airflow your your intercooler to improve it's efficiency. How to measure pressure drop in an intake system, How to improve your car's aerodynamics on the cheap, etc..etc..etc..

I really can't recommend that website enough if you want to learn, and how to do stuff on the cheap.
