which is better
I have been seriously considering trading my Tib in on a new Genesis. I love my Tib but it seems very limited on what I can do with it. Also I would like to for once be the only owner of a car. I haven't decided for sure I will do it but I would like to see what anyone has to say.

Anyone on here will tell you: Wait for the 2013 direct inject. Primarily the 2.0T with 274hp.
Personally, although I prefer the 2.0T to the 3.8, I have a thing with not trusting turbos, especially for long trips. But I'm not cocky, practical, or expensive enough to buy a 3.8
Insurance on GCoupes is expensive though! Same with Tiburons, so unfortunately all of these cars are not worth it really.

3.8 is faster, but 2.0 has more aftermarket support.
If you want to be faster, go 3.8. If you want to build it to be faster than the 3.8, get the 2.0, it's more fun.
I <3 boost.
the DI will likely be harder to tune and have aftermarket support for it. A lot of people are concerned with what aftermarket support will be available at that time, and how long it'll take to crack the ECU.
Insurance on my GC isn't bad, IMO. It's less than my 2009 Murano, less than my 2000 Tiburon and 98 Mustang was. I pay almost $50/mo. for full coverage. Insurance is based on much more than the car

If you have the funds for a new car why not? I would love a new Genesis but a minivan is next for the family.
I would prob try to sell your tib privately. Trade in value is next to nothing. I was going to trade in my wife 07 Accent Sport (20k new) and the dealership offered us 6k!!?? No thanks!
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

seems the 2.0 is in the lead. Of course that will take some reading up on since turbo's are new to me. I do have some friends though who seem to know a good bit about them.
Pas1216 thanks for the suggestion on private sale I'll definitely look into it.

So basically if I want to actually mod the car I go with the I4 if I want power straight from purchase get the v6. Sounds like the I4 is the better deal. Everything I've seen so far says that like the Tiburon the v6 doesn't have any real parts to upgrade it and I can make the I4 faster with a lot less money.
