Are these needed if you get a better clutch and flywheel installed, or can you still use the stock lines?

They only affect the feel. The hydraulics will keep up with the mechanics in the clutch system, but a line that does not flex/swell under pressure will feel better to someone who likes feedback on what their car is doing.
