If you scroll down, you'll see an image of the red calipers. I think those are the Brembos, right? $206 per side, with a $54 core charge thats refunded when you send your old calipers so really only $300 for the front or rear set. That's amazing! If those are in fact the Brembos and I order them, what pads should I get and can I still use my base rotors or do I need Brembo rotors specifically? Is there anything else I need?

 

I'm seeing raybestos and cardone reman. at that link, not brembo.

Yes, they were Brembos. The only thing left that's still Brembo though is the casting. The pistons, seals, hardware, etc... are all Mexican or Chinese reman parts.

 

Damn! That's less than the junk yard prices. If you're really worried about the quality of the components buy a rebuild kit from Brembo. The pistons shouldn't ever fail to hold pressure, but the gaskets and tubing probably suck. You're still only talking only $500 for the 4-pot upgrade.

 

Calipers typically sell on FB for between $800-1k, and even then have a hard time selling. I got an entire setup, rotors, pads, brembos for $950 shipped, and the rotors alone were $100 to ship. May as well replace the brake line if you're doing the swap. The rear will require you to trim the dust shield.



I'd stay within the community to know they're legit.

 

Damn....I was ready to buy those until I scrolled down and saw everyone saying they have inferior parts. It's too bad the link in the OP's post isnt a 100% solid real set of them at that price, because at that dollar amount...you wouldnt be able to pass them up.

 

Well, it says they're remans and Brembo doesn't reman calipers. They sell parts for you to rebuild them yourself, but they don't do it themselves. Just stands to reason that a high volume reman company isn't gonna but parts from Brembo.

 

^ What he said 100%. ^ Its pretty much like buying a set from any major auto parts chain, you get the original caliper housing and usually (but not always) pistons; but the remaining gaskets and hardware are all manufactured by some 3rd party.





That said, I would do this but understanding that the quality control may not be in place. There's the possibility that you may have to rebuild them with better gaskets once the calipers arrive. It's a modest gamble, but at that price you won't lose out and out. You just might have to put and extra couple hours effort into the job.
