the construction looks very very similar to the RDTiburon, only a bit more refined. i bet the plastic pieces are still held on by clips too. it just shows how advanced the Tiburon was.
i like the gauges. i'm sure they are easily replaceable for higher quality ones.
i bet the rear bumper and spoiler will be changed for the next facelift.

Hate to be the only one, but I'm a big fan of this face lift. The GC needs to be more aggressive, visually and mechanically. If this is going to be a high tech, turbocharged sports coupe, it better look the part.
It'd be far too tempting to completely de-louvre the centre grill, and just leave the chrome moustache and H badge.

it needs to be more aggressive - yes, I agree. Making it resemble all other Hyundai models doesn't accomplish that, IMO.

I'll say it, I like it. I'm in the minority, for sure, but I do like the styling.

If I had photoshop, I'd take 60 seconds to stitch this together. Since I don't have photoshop, let me take 10 to describe what they did.
Step 1: Chop veloster in half.
Step 2: Chop GC in half.
Step 3: Glue front of veloster to rear of GC.
Step 4: Call it the GC Facelift.
Step 5: FAIL! FAILFAILFAILFAIL!!!!!
The next veloster is going to be the front of the old GC mated to the rear of the veloster. They had to do something with the two leftover halfs... It'll be called the Veloster Facelift.
I know exactly why they did it. Most every car company has done it. It's all marketing. They have to keep a similar image so all Hyundais are recognized as Hyundais. However taking the exact same face and sticking it on all your cars is pure fail. They're supposed to look SIMILAR, not IDENTICAL. It's like kids. All your own kids look very similar. However you don't go to the doctor when they're born and ask to have their faces made to look EXACTLY LIKE YOUR OWN just so people will know they're your kids!

I cant see any of the pictures!!!
And I didnt like the F/L at first, but it has definitely grown on me. I dont mind it now. The tails and the new LED's around the fog lights look great though!
