Default 2.0 Premium or 3.8 R-Spec

Coming back to states in Dec and moving to Panama City Beach FL. Trading the HD in to get my Genesis. I'm trying to pick if I want the 2.0 Premium or the 3.8 R-Spec. Which do you think I should get...... right now I'm thinking more about the R-Spec..

I say 2.0t Track. Unless you want to leave it stock. Then I still wouldn't get the R-Spec. I love cruise control too much.

2.0

- Less expensive

- More aftermarket support

3.8

- More power stock

- New twin turbo system is out giving the 3.8 over 600 horses

Its like the old beta versus delta argument with the GK's. If you plan to do mod it out alot, then the 2.0's might be the way to go. If you want to get good power but not do alot, then the 3.8's is the way to go. It also depends on what you want your monthly payment to be through financing (if you do that).

However, the next generation will have the same engine and power output as the Sonata Turbo's. 274 horses, and direct injection.

but the 2013 direct injection is a major concern for tuning capabilities. We won't know til it arrives, but aftermarket parts won't be readily available and tuning is still questionable.

The 2013 looks like it's going to get some major updates. Wait and see for more details so you can make a better decision. Patience pays off.

Welcome back, glad you're sticking with it! Personally I don't think there is a better lineup out there than the Hyundai lineup.

A friend of mine has an added 50whp on his Optima turbo 2.0t thanks to Nameless Performance. No idea what the ceiling is yet, but it has handled that much very well.
