Updated Hyundai Equus to Bow by Year’s End
http://www.leftlanenews.com/updated-...years-end.html
Hyundai’s Equus sedan has only been on the market for about a year now, but the Korean automaker is apparently readying an updated version of its flagship four-door.
Hyundai has yet to alert us to an updated version of the Equus, but Automotive News let leak that a revised version of the car is scheduled to bow by year’s end. AN didn’t give any further details, but the recently released 2012 Genesis sedan should give us a pretty good idea of what to expected from the 2012 Equus.
For starters, the 2012 Equus will likely offer Hyundai’s new 5.0L V8. Under the hood of the Genesis 5.0 R-Spec that motor cranks out 429 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque, which should translate over to the Equus. Hyundai will continue to offer the 4.6L V8 in the Genesis, but it remains to be seen if the smaller V8 will make it into the 2012 Equus lineup.
Inside the Equus should gain Hyundai’s new Blue Link infotainment system. When we first drove the Equus its in-car electronics left us wanting for more, but the new system should shore up that issue. No major interior changes are expected, but Hyundai could have a few minor tweaks up its sleeves.
Given the new Equus’ timeframe, we suspect we will be seeing an the updated sedan at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this year.
