8 speed tranny?
I was reading that the 2012 Equus will come with an 8 speed tranny. Thats really cool. Im trying to imagine the type of gears and electronics it would have to control such a beefy tranny. I bet working on it must be a nightmare too. Im also guessing that the gearing is really low and its only meant to get good gas mileage versus performance. 
Anybody have other thoughts about it?

I hate CVT's (and torque converters for that matter). Porsche is coming out with a 7 speed manual... a real one, with a clutch pedal.

Hey, here's an idea: How about we design a nice flat torque curve into our new engines, so all this is moot anyhow?
