Hyundai Elantra Forum The Hyundai Elantra Forum. Later models (96-up) of this 4-door share their Beta engines and chassis with the Hyundai Tiburon. Earlier Mistubishi-based Hyundai Elantras (92-95) are perfect candidates for the popular 4g63t motor swap, which turns the Hyundai Elantra into a real sleeper. These characteristics make the Hyundai Elantra a great car for those who want sports car performance with family car flexibility.

Default Project Mitsu Elantra GSX....

... is dead!!! Today (July 23, 2002) at 4:45 pm est; in the town of Milford, Mass., I got in a car accident with my 1995 Hyundai Elantra. Some man driving an S10 decided to cross the road when he shouldn't have, forgoeing a Stop sign. I struck him on the drivers side. The truck is in repairable condition, my car.. well.. it doesnt look too good. My whole front end looks horrible, sheet metal crumpled, frame is slightly bent on the drivers side, radiator fluid flowed everywhere. My 60/40 rear seat popped out, because of my subwoofer enclosure. Its just horrible. It seems that once again one of my dreams has been shattered. The one thing I was looking foward to, the ultimate Hyundai sleeper, with AWD... *sigh* I'll try to get a pic for those interested in seeing the damage. And I'll keep you posted on what happens next. I do know something; I'll never find a car like my first car, like that 1st Gen Elantra. Sadly, this car isnt very common in this area....

I'd definately try and do a Project Mitsu AWD Turbo Accent. You'll have money from the accident. And you can get an accent for almost dirt cheap now a days. The only prob with that would be the trans, unless you could find let's say an Evo 3 trans i believe it was. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but aren't mitsu trans on the wrong side of car for us?

oh no no no no, im sticking with the Elantra happy.gif, i already have the front clip waiting for the car. Im gonna go check out this Elantra that needs engine work to it (its going for $195), and check what else is wrong with it. I mean, I wont be needing that engine anyhow. wink

Now that you have found an Elantra, use the insurance money to buy the cool stuff!

BTW, what year of Elantra is it?

Also, the trannies of the EVO 4-7 are on the same side as ours.
