some guy hit me from behind in stop and go traffic on a slow section of the highway 1 hour before my final exam. his 4x4 bar punctured the bumer and paint cracked off but i patched it up nicely. still needs 800 grit then 1000 and 2000 grit but i'm waiting on adhesion promoter and factory paint and clear.









should look new when it's done.

 

done courtesy automoivetouchup.com - 10 minute intervals of 1 coat adhesion promoter, 3 coats base, 1 coat adhesion promoter, and 3 coats clear. the total was $50.00 in paint.



wetsanding is great but make sure you buy waterproof sandpaper. 400 to 800 to 1000 grit the glazing putty tends to melt off with a lot of water, so i found it better using less water. avoid glazing putty, it cracks.

It's on B+G, threw my old AEM in it. Last time I was coming up from Florida, there was a brand new $40,000 Lexus and new BMW 7-series balling. Funny thing about it was the Elantra was overloaded, so all four tires were concealed under the arches, so the center of gravity was insane. So every now and then the Lexus and BMW would pass one another, and there I was passing them both LMAO. Each of them would pull up just to get a look at what the hell I was. I bet they were in dismal when they saw a dropped 15 year old Hyundai f'ing Wagon shaming them.

This one has close to 200,000mi. My favorite are still the 1996-1998. They look great. I would throw the Tiburon rims on it but that's more money spent. You can't fit as much in any car (unless they're SUV's or wagons) as you can in this one. Cement, pine trees, luggage, crates... you name it. Then you add the fuel economy. It doesn't make sense to get rid of it.



You still have the sedan though right?

i literally hauled a COUCH to abq in my wagon, granted it stuck out a good 2 feet and i had to drive with the hatch up(of course i waited until 2 am to do this so cops wouldnt see lol)

that's sooo awesome!! yeah you just leave the hatch open and tie the latch down and go for it. you can fit just about anything, especially with the way the rear seat cushions fold upward. i've driven with a matress on the roof before, you name it. the wagon was better than anything in its day, i mean we're talking 1996.



the Tiburon is going to get painted and refreshed next. i just don't have any time right now since i am taking summer courses.

damn. i was excited when you had just finished. it was funny how beat up you described it, something along the lines of the interior being taken apart. does it need tuning, timing, or is there some kind of pressure leak?
