Would adding an oil cooler to a naturally aspirated engine with minor mods help in any way shape or form?

no. it can do bad, if the oil does not come up to temp it will be too thick.

If you are driving through the desert or racing on long courses, then maybe. Otherwise, unless there is a thermostat control on the cooler, it would possibly do more harm than good.
