Hyundai Elantra Forum The Hyundai Elantra Forum. Later models (96-up) of this 4-door share their Beta engines and chassis with the Hyundai Tiburon. Earlier Mistubishi-based Hyundai Elantras (92-95) are perfect candidates for the popular 4g63t motor swap, which turns the Hyundai Elantra into a real sleeper. These characteristics make the Hyundai Elantra a great car for those who want sports car performance with family car flexibility.

well as i said Austrian law about Tuning is strict and verry hard. Impossible to write in vehicle papers parts that dont have certificates. I got mine direct from Hyundai dealer they looked in Database and orderd the last 1 in europe from germany kinda had luck. The OEM style spoilers i can hardly write in vehicle papers. And all that isnt written in vehicle papers here is illegal and leads to punishment :'(. Spoiler costs 215 Euro. Painting + building in is expansive since its hand - houre - paymend. Now to have spoiler legaly i need it from a mechanic build in. Which makes it cost expansive since i get the Bill to prove it was build in by a proffesional mechanic company.

Lucky i found my spoiler atleast. Got enough money for now ;p

Sounds like a pain. But, Its worth the time, Elantra's are GREAT vehicles. I tell my friends that drive domestics "Buy an Elantra" =P
Painting, and installing the OEM wing shouldn't take them too long. But, Then again...To get it written for it would have to be a place certified to work on them, Dealership, etc. So I understand why its so pricey.

also the Hyundai Factory didnt make alot Tuning Parts or Accesoires or how its called in year 2003. If you buy a new hyundai now atleast in Europe u got more options nowdays than back at 2003. But the Elantra is definitly best car i ever drove. Hehe wink.gif

lol trust me i wish i would live in US. Tuning in Austria in Germany can get hard. All this laws etc. *Cry* As example neon lights under the car forbidden or spinner wheels or extreme spoilers. You maybe heard about TÜV. Thats a german company which also is in austria. You need to go there after u buy a part w/o papers to see if u can legaly get the certificats which cost each certificat like 150 euro. Here the whole thing starts on 1 part there go 3 certificats than u can go to Police to write the part in costs for body parts another 200 euro. So alone for getting a nice part making certificate if possible and writting in vehicle papers costs u 650 Euro add a rear bumber and u be easily at like 1000 Euro =S lol.
