Hyundai Elantra Forum The Hyundai Elantra Forum. Later models (96-up) of this 4-door share their Beta engines and chassis with the Hyundai Tiburon. Earlier Mistubishi-based Hyundai Elantras (92-95) are perfect candidates for the popular 4g63t motor swap, which turns the Hyundai Elantra into a real sleeper. Default '94 Elantra 1.6L intake options???

Hey all, me again... I was wondering which type of intake i can get to replace my stock intake filter??? Also, I am confused on who actually made my motor (1.6L I4 113hp)??? I heard Mitsu made it, and i have seen similar pictures of the 1.6L motor in a Talon. The DOHC head was the same, so i need all the info i can possably get... And one more thing, does anybody know of any magazines that are published that are made just for Hyundai Performance Enthusias??? Ohh, and on a side note, i want to put superwhite headlights on the front, but i was wondering what company makes inecpensive ones, and arn't painted??? Any responses can be e-mailed to me at jl_world@hotmail.com, thanx again my fellow Hyundai Tuners... smile.gif

To the best of my knowledge

the 1994 engine is a Mitsu engine, so most 1.6 Mitsu engine parts should fit for you.

No one makes a CAI for your car. You would have to make your own, or go with the Random Special or the Tunez Special...
www.jcwhitney.com sells decent headlight bulbs cheap, but I think Tunez has a line on better lights for around the same price.

In regards to a Hyundai only Magazine...Dream ON! There are not enough Hyundai tuners and not enough Hyundai part makers to pay for advertizing....

Finally someone else with a 94 Lantra...I have had the same problem and decided to go with the weapon-r hyper intake for the 94 N/A Eclipse. It is difficult for us to get a CAI do the big frickin' MAFS. No one makes a CAI for this big ass frickin'@$#%. It would be a real headache to custom one because of this also...I've tried everything. With the weapon-r hyper intake, it comes with a filter that is made for our MAFS and a good looking intake tube. The only thing is that the engine configuration for the Eclipse is different than ours...the Elantra battery is located right where the intake leads up to. So I had to do some trimming down on the tube. I used my dremel to cut down both ends of the tube so it could be positioned right above the battery, I then had to move the fuse box. Hard to explain by words, easy to show. If I can I'll post some pics of my set up.
