Which is better for driving at night or in rainy conditions? 3k or 5k fogs? Right now I have 8K low beams and factory high's.

 

3k will be yellow and 5k will be bright white. For bad weather I would go with the 3k.

 

5k.

 

Out of those choices, 5000K, and preferably a 55W kit.



I got 8000K 55W for my lows, 6000K 55W for the highs.



From my experience on 3 tibs, and running the numbers on the wire gauge and whatnot, the harness will hold up just fine to a 55W kit, no need for extra relays.

 

i just ordered my 2nd hid kit after my "mystery deal" ebay ballast crapped out on me.



new kit has AC vvme ballasts and 9007 5000k bulbs, the 5000k i believe puts out the most light and looks close to oem hids..i had the 6000k's but the slight blue tint looks rice on a 16 year old 4-door.

 

I love my 3k fogs. I think mixed with 5k or 6k lows you get a good coverage of the spectrum and I find it easier to see at night.

 

normally, i'd only fit hid's on my headlights but adding hids on foglights on a car that came without them seem like a mess of wiring and taking the bumper apart.



my j2 has multi reflector type lens instead of the clear lens type and do a great job of spreading the light very evenly but light output sucks,

 

It was easier on mine than doing the headlights. Way easier on the Tib to do the fog lights.
