Hyundai Elantra Forum The Hyundai Elantra Forum. Later models (96-up) of this 4-door share their Beta engines and chassis with the Hyundai Tiburon. Earlier Mistubishi-based Hyundai Elantras (92-95) are perfect candidates for the popular 4g63t motor swap, which turns the Hyundai Elantra into a real sleeper. Kinda resembles ractives cone w/ heatshield. I'd doubt you get 12 HP from THAT!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>kidd elantra:
the answer is how much </div>I'm not exactly sure what it is you're getting at, but the truth is that heat shield kinda detracts the "flow" of air into the engine. So you could be lucky to get 1 HP from this thing!

Keep in mind that I'm only speaking about the filter itself. I can't read Korean and can't tell if there is more involved that just the filter. That is one crappy web-site! It looks like this can be compared to a Spiral max type contraption by using the term "Hyper Charger". The only problem is that the web-site doesn't explain how their technology works! rolleyes.gif

I have a Ractive heat shield air filter and I can vouch that you definitely get more than 1 hp out of it. I doubt you'd get 12, but 5 is probably doable.

This is what he is refering to. Guys...go back to reading 101. Right at the top of the page

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>GRUPPE M Hypercharger now available for Hyundai Tuscani (Tiburon 2002)!!!
DYNO tested at 12.5 horsepower increase for Hyundai Tuscani (Tiburon 2002)!!!</div>I have not seen the stock intake and resonator setup for the V6, so I cannot comment how easy or hard it would be to gain 12 HP. If they use the same size tubing and piping on the V6 as the I4, then yes, just removing all that crap and strapping a K&N Filter would probably show a 12 HP gain at some point in the dyno chart. Notice they don't say 12 "peak" HP, and they provide no dyno chart as proof. Hell, their intake could raise the HP at 2000 RPM from 120 to 132.5 and they could claim their intake makes 12.5 HP.

Gruppe M sells intake systems and K&N filters. Check out their intake for a Ferrari.

Someone posted a dyno of a 2003 Tib with a CAI and it gained 18whp over at HP.com.

Random,

I believe that the hypercharger intake is just that. An intake pipe with a newer version of the K+N filter attached at the end. With a pretty little cover.

There was a significant gain but I forgot how much.... I have to dig up the dyno graph.

Guys i've got exactly the same filter, mine it's called Simota.I believe the gain is about 5-6hp,the cover helps if the air comes from outside, otherwise it takes the hot air of the engine.I personally have it under the Evo VI hood.Temporaly i'm using a pcv pipe. The sound of it is just perfect.
How can i publish some pics of my engine???
