Yellow fog lights
This is a functional question and not appearance question.
I live in a rural area on the outskirts of Atlanta where there are no lights at night in some areas, so lighting is important.
I understand yellow fog lights are good in the fog, because a color bulb will reflect than "white" light. So it works better in fog or rain.
Fog and rain is not an issue in my area.
Are there any benefits of a yellow bulb in my area in terms of lighting?

If you're wanting it for better lighting in dimly lit areas, I'd suggest investing in HIDs before fog lights. $30 @ DDM Tuning or $80 shipped from Diode Dynamics (a site vendor). Order a 4300k kit for pure white brightness, or a 6000k if you want a slightly bluish tint (my choice), or 8000k if you want a noticeable bluish tint.
I will install HIDs in every car I own. They make such a big difference. I installed Diode Dynamics' kit on my 00 Tiburon and my '10 Genesis Coupe, and I have HIDs on my 09 Murano.
I don't know the answer to your specific question, but HIDs should give you more visibility than fog lights, regardless of color.

sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but is brightness the only reason that fogs are short range only? I've got a set of factory fogs shipping at the moment, and i want some HID/big halogens to convert them to driving lights. is this doable with brightess and aiming?

I installed 55w 3000k HID fogs on my 2010 accent hatchback. The extra lumens is very noticeable, and great in bad weather conditions. They are pretty easy to install too. You would have to remove your bumper, but that's pretty easy. I have videos on YouTube of how to do this. Search "Hyundai accent 3000k HID fog light installation"
i also live in the rural outskirts of atlanta, 65 miles south of atl in pike county. HID's are the way to go, i converted mine about 5years ago and have never had any problems, it has helped me avoid hitting all kinds of wild life while working night shift.
-just plain yellow halogen fog lights wont help except in fog, i've been trying to find yellow HID fogs but no luck yet.
