Default wheel fitment question

ok, here we go. i know there are a ton of wheels from other 4x100 equipped cars that will "technically" fit my 05 Accent. but here's the deal. i found that the center hub bore of the wheel of the accent is 67.1 and just about every other car on the 4x100 list has a much smaller bore. so, will all those wheels actually fit or is there some adjustment that needs to be made? i had an 06 xB that i put saturn wheels on and needed spacers so they would clear the brake calipers.....don't want to go through that again.

Ive heard of some boring out the inside of the wheel to match the larger hub bore, but that seems... risky to me. As far as clearing the calibers just make sure you get the right offset and you should be ok. I dont remember what the accent runs so Ill hush until someone better with rims chimes in.

For a 6-7 inch wide wheel 38mm-42mm of offset is safe. If you want to have a particular stance you can measure and calculate the exact offset that would be perfect but if you're not super picky sticking with 35-45mm will work fine.

As far as hub bore goes, you'll have to check the wheel specs to ensure that the bore is as large or larger than yours. If you find a wheel that you want you can find the info. Not a lot of OEM wheels will interchange because like you said we have larger bores than most 4x100 cars. Most aftermarket wheels are designed to fit the widest range of models possible and the vast majority will have a bore larger than ours.

13mm is half an inch, but no idea at all what you're talking about.

that's the difference in the center bore of most of the wheels i found. pretty simple to have a machine shop bore the center out and keep it cocentric.

By the time you buy the wheels and pay a machine shop, would have been cheaper to go aftermarket. You can get decent 16's for about $100/ea.

i can get 15s for 89 each, but that is 400 plus the cost of tires....totals about 800, i've already shopped aftermarket. i can get 4 wheels w/tires for around 100.

I guess TX is cheaper than Vegas. Salvage yards here charge $25/ea for just one worn tire and they rarely have a matched set. Stock rims are about $50/ea. You can sometimes find a complete set of rims/tires for $400 on Craigslist. A machine shop here would charge you about $60/ea to machine the rims. The Discount Tire down the street from me regularly has 15's on sale for $400/set with tires.
