Default What type muffler

I want to put on a more free flowing muffler but dont want to make the car too loud and buzzy. The one catback system I see available, wont fit the newer Accents due to the tip coming straight out and hitting the rear valance. From what I could see, it looks like there is absolutely nothing but the muffler from the cat back? Am I correct in this assumption? Can anyone recommend something that would meet my needs?

Thanks!!

I would suggest the greddy SP2 muffler or the cheaper OBX SP2 knockoff. it can be found on eGay for about 100.00 bucks.

I'm not sure what all you have for an exhaust system, but on the LC2 Accents there is a resonator and the muffler.

Just go to Youtube and search for exhaust and listen for something you like.

yes this is true on the MC's as well. on my 01 I have the primary cat and I'm not sure if the other part is a cat or a resonator going back to a fart can muffler and it is not loud at all. even heavy into the pedal in 1st,second, 3rd. it's quiet as can be.

I'm going to recommend a Dynomax SuperTurbo for deep sound, louder then stock, cheap price and good airflow.

I have just put on a Magnaflow exhaust it was 200$CDN including labor and I tell you it opened things up very nicely especially at higher RPMs. Sounds really nice low tone and no buzzing and it kinda looks stockish not a huge fart-can sticking out the back.

I like Magnaflow! What exactly did you put on? I looked on the website but saw nothing specific for the Accent. Did you go with a universal muffler? And are you guys removing the resonator as well as the stock muffler?

Thanks!
