What else can I do to my Accent?

Right now I have just a short ram intake and a Borla muffler in place of the factory one. I havent really found too much for 2008's so if anybody has some places for me to check out that sell stuff for my car, please let me know. I dont know where to go with it from here. I just want it to be faster.

You can check out our vendors at the bottom of the forum. I think they sell parts for Hyundai's. Maybe someone else can verify? :Shifty:

without getting into engine swapping and turbos the only thing left is really a header....i have yet to see one for a 2008 but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist somewhere.

Weight reduction is always an option. Look at getting a fiberglass or carbon fiber hood or trunk. Take sh*t out of it, gut it if that's your style. Also, getting your suspension dialed in will make it feel better and be a little quicker.

-semi slick tires

-sway bars

-good shock absorbers (konis, bilsteins etc)

-fiberglass replacement panels

-camber strut tops

etc

You could always do this to your car

Which short ram are you using? I tried to get the Hyundai branded one and strut bar that the offered for the 07&08 for our 09, but apparently that vendor cut ties with Hyundai and they couldn't order it.

As for adding power, aside from a ridiculously expensive n/a tune:

full cat-back

headers

CAI

BBTB

Custom ITBs (?)

Isn't there another member here spraying her MC?

obligatory motor swap (gripe)

General stuff:

Rear disc conversion

Coilovers

various suspension parts

Better rubber

I have the stock manifold from an 08' botled to my 04....you can get headers that fit an 03-05. The bolt patterns the same...not sure about fitment as far as space but you could get a muffler shop to adjust it. Also a nice 2.25" cat back is a good place to start. You said you only have a borla in place of the stock muffler? did you get a cat back exhaust done as well? Sadly you wont see much power gains for the amount of money you will spend to moddify the 1.6 N/A. Also you could get an air flow converter lie the Apxi SAFC II (only one i can remember right now) you could try for a full stand alone using Megasquirt. Ive heard of some decent N/A gains with that. I think there was a guy with 130 whp N/A using Megasquirt, full I/H/E, BBTB, P/P heads, ported intake manifold and beta injectors.

All in all its a personal choice what you do. You will get some decently good sized power just turbo charging it, you could always go for the sleeper "stock" look and Beta swap it and then moddify that. Hell I knew a guy who ran a 100 shoot on his stock motor and was running really smooth with that.

Def think about getting a header and better piping from the cat to your Borla muffler.
