Certain racing leagues require external painted tow hooks. Even when they're not required, like in SnowX, if you stuff into a snow bank, you're much easier to tow out with a big red meta ring sticking out the back of your car.

If you want to install them, find your existing tow hooks and drill to mount the new ones. Easiest way.

if the kid wants tow hooks on his car, let him have the tow hooks geez. no reason needed.

as far as installing them, the rear tow hook is connected to the tow hook you already have back there using bolts and the bracket it should come with. as far as the front, you have to drill holes in your front bumper support and screw it in. you will need to cut a slit in the front bumper for it to stick out.

all of my factory tow hooks are gone from bottoming out. their either blasted off or smashed flat. they were about as thick as coat hangars.

Thanks everbody. I was looking to install this because i might be doing some autocross events this year. never know what can happen and may need to be towed off a track. Knocking on wood that nothing bad does happen to my car but you never know.

I wouldn't worry about wrecking at an autox event very much. Although my friend did smash up his SHO a few weeks ago by going off course and into a ditch. I haven't seen how bad it is yet, but it's not drivable.

I personally like the tow hook look, but the uselessness for me so far has kept me from installing one.

I've never been to an AutoX event where crashing was a concern. You're usually in a wide open parking lot. Investing in some good tires to keep you out of trouble in the first place would be a much better use of your time and money.
