Default Throttle body swap 1.6L 04 Accent

Hey everyone!

My name is Paul, I'm new here. I have a 04 Accent gsi, never winter driven, apx 70000 km. Tint, stereo, strut bars front and back, and CAI. I have some Meganracing lowering springs and a short shifter coming from KFX. I just changed out my manual trans oil today for some Red Line MT-90. And I always run Mobil 1 engine oil.

I have a question about my throttle body. Is there a bigger TB that I can swap out that is a direct bolt on? (maybe from a tib or something?) AND has anyone with a 1.6L ever ported and polished their intake manifold? Did you see any gains?

Thanks in advance, Paul.

First thing and you will notice this... disconnect the coolant lines from your throttle body and the just loop the two together on the thermostat housing. While your at the thermostat housing remove it and put a lower temp one in, keeping your overall engine temp down will increase overall temp and wont heat up under the bonnet much, 5 degrees does make a big differance.

You can get straight bolt on throttle bodies from kdmstuff, alternately you can source a system upgrade throttle body, change to a twin cam excel alloy intake manifold ( map sensor will b e in the same place and the idle air will be moved directly onto throttle body - get stanard idle air position welded up)

Cheers Ryan
