Hyundai Accent Forum The Hyundai Accent Forum. Hyundai's little champ. While the Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Excel may be small, they respond very well to aftermarket modifications and is among the favorites for Hyundai tuners.

Default Surviving with 1 car key

Got it with one key. Been rolling with that since day one. I know it's going to bite me in the ass one day.

Anyone else living life dangerously and only have one key to their car?

I did on my '05 MINI Cooper S, but only because a replacement key was almost $200.

Get one cut. They're cheap... http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-NEW-Uncut-...6e1e4a&vxp=mtr and get it cut locally.

Get a key cut, but be sure it's the plain metal kind, no big plastic 'handle' on the end. Then put it in your wallet and forget it's there until you lock yourself out. You don't need a fancy RFID key to unlock most car doors, and if the fancy key is in the car, opening the door is all you need.

Great idea if you lock the main key in the car - not so hot if you lose it.

When you buy a car new, they are going to make THOUSANDS off of that sale. Asking for a 2nd key is like asking to use the shitter. They'll throw one in without a 2nd thought.

If you buy the car used, you saved enough money to get one cut even if you need to visit the dealer. Either way having one key is just stupid.

And +1 for the wallet. I keep a 2nd for the Tib, the Accent and the 2 in mine.

I got a used MC Accent in August and I'm still only using the 1 key they gave me. I tried to get a 2nd one cut immediately but I have to go to the dealer and never got around to it.

My car only came with one key and I drove around that way for about 2 months before getting 2 extras made. I keep one extra at my parents house and one inside mine.
