Default Stock tib throttle body on 2k1 accent?

Hey, was thinking of getting a Stock Tibby Throttle body for my 1.6L 2K1 Accent.

Is the Stock TB the same as getting a BBTB? Is it worth it for me to upgrade? I'm looking for more low end push.

Thanks

It's not going to work for you man. There is something in your TB that is different that the Tib's. I remember Skierd talking about what it was, maybe you could ask him.

The 1.6L has a lil hole inside of its throttle body thats used as the idle air bypass. The tiburon's TB doesnt have this hole. Put the tib tb on the 1.6L and you wont be able to idle. Other than that it would work, just hafta keep revving the car like a dirt bike. tongue.gif

Well, i think that the Beta2 (found in the new elantra and tiburon) have the internal idle air bypass too, so those might work...

i got a tibby TB for sale just incase
people hae switched it in

if you get the Barney TB or if you bore out the tibby TB,... it might be overkill for your 1.6L

A tibby of elantra TB should be fine

Has anyone ever got this to work on a 1.6L? Is there a way of drilling the holes required for the idle process?

If your idle bypass valve is external you can use the rubber coupling from the tibby to reciculate your air! You may just need to fab a new hose for it!!!
