I'm sorry the schematic didn't work for you. I did find which wire is for the RPM signal though at the instrument cluster. It's pin 11 on the M71-1 connector into the cluster. That is the pin on the bottom right of the 20 pin connector going into the cluster if you're looking at the connector face.
It also should be pin 8 on the ECU and the wire should be gray if it's the same as mine. Pin 8 is the third from the right on the bottom row of pins on the 81 pin C26 ECU connector if you're looking at the connector face. Pin location is probably correct even if wire color is not.
I know for a fact that the instrument cluster for an 03 and an 04 will swap because I've done it. That means that regardless of any other differences the wire in pin 11 on the M71-1 connector will be the RPM signal wire.

So this being a long ass post reply but i have been busy with school and all, but dusted off this tuner and figure i would try again. My question is can also use the obd-2 scanner wires too?
