Default Rubbing compound or clay bar

Whats better to use for removing dead paint and contaminants? Clay bar or rubbing compound?

Id go with clay for sticking stuff like sap and other chemicals. Use compound more for correction.

use the clay bar and also buy some mr clean magic erasers they work great for stuff on etc.

It's not an either-or question. It's a matter of what you need.



Clay bar- takes impurities out of your paint

Rubbing Compound - sands down the surface to a smooth finish

Polishing compound- should always be used after rubbing compound to get the surface smooth again.

wax - use after polishing compound to protect the surface.





You should use all of them if you are considering rubbing compound. Wash your car in between each step.
