well you lucked out, i blew the clutch in my elantra and when it went, it took the flywheel and my dealer said it was driver error and that i owe them 1100 for parts and labor.</div>on a 2001 elantra? he's got to be smoking dope! Call the hyundai 1-800 customer service center and ask to be put in contact with your regional Service rep. He should hopefully take care of it for ya.</div>I blew mine at 1400 miles on it. I accidently shifted down to third at 100mph. Didnt mention that but the dealership covered it under thier good will policy because of burn marks in the housing. I told them I wasn't racing it and that I haven't drove a manual in 2 years so a little burning of the clutch was to be expected. They said there was "signs of racing" rolleyes.gif both from the burn marks and get this flake residue from track numbers on the window/body. I tried to get it covered under normal warrenty but they wouldn't have it.
What happened to the clutch was that I busted the master clutch cyl, bent the push rod and cracked the flywheel. I have never seen a clutch pedal lock before so I probably bent the rod when i tried to free the pedal once. eek! But nothing was wrong with the pressure plate or the throw out bearing.
