Default A quick question about X3 struts

Hey everybody

I've got an opportunity to grab a sweet deal on some X3 suspension; for $200 I can pick up these koni shocks and king springs:

Yay! However: My X3 was built in '95, and these struts came out of a '99 car. I know that the rear springs are different between the two cars, but would changing the entire spring/strut combo negate that problem?

Additionally, the one of the front struts needs to be replaced/rebuilt because apparently, it clunks. Can anyone shed some light on the difficulty and cost of repairing koni shocks?

Thanks for reading. Not sure if want.

You have to rebuild a shock and replace springs . . . at a cost of what, total, compared to what, if you bought them new?

Stocker, I called the local koni distributor and they said I may as well replace them for roughly the same cost as rebuilding them.

New king springs would be ~$300 for the set

New koni shocks would be ~$800-1000 for the set

Either way I'll need to buy spring compressors

So it is a good deal in that respect. I'm condsidering just purchasing these, then replacing the fronts with Excel-Gs or similar. I'd like something a little nicer than Excel-Gs, adjustability would be nice.

Cheers for the help lads!
