Hyundai Accent Forum The Hyundai Accent Forum. Hyundai's little champ. While the Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Excel may be small, they respond very well to aftermarket modifications and is among the favorites for Hyundai tuners.

OK Hydrolock is when the intake SUCKS in enough water to actually fill part of a cylinder..

I have No bypass on my 2k3.. YEa on a brand new car with a low CAI..

Why????

For me to suffer from hydrolock I would have dip the front of my car in 12 inchs of water instantly.. You know what At that point I have other things I need to worry about then my engine.

One The Fact that My front end just got ripped 6 inches in the Vertical direction in effect ripping off part if not all the front end..

By this point my subframe would be bent/twisted/damaged beyond it ever being even close to like new..

I just smashed my frame into my tirewell and my tires as well as rims are beyond repair.

the 1100 dollar engine compared to 10k in body damage..

this impact would also send me into a slide (sideways) Probly hitting something else..

Rules of thumb.. DON'T DRIVE IN A FLOOD..
IF you have to then Yank the lowerpart and just run a WAI (warm air intake)

This is aimed at big_al. Anybody that can take a teg intake and make it work knows enuff about this not to need a lecture.

I don't mean to be a jerk Al but The same belief you have cost me 80 bucks. and when I took off the Bypass I got a slight improvement in TR..

My .02

Peace
