Low 14's for Accent.
You're looking at a custom turbo system bro, or, if you wanna go N/A you'll end up spending more on the engine than just for the custom turbo kit itself, which would yeild similar results, if not less. The Beta swap is the best bet cost-wise, because of the equipment that is already avalible for the Betas.
Good luck.
Good luck.
I'll get raped by a shop(cost wise)...
Around my way custom work on cars is pretty rare. An shops that do, do work I wouldn't trust with my car.
I know this question has been asked 1001 times, but where could I get a fairly new 2.0 or 1.8 Tibby-Elantra motor...I checked the local wreckers non are avaliable sad.gif
An all other items needed for a swap
btw: I need this to be a daily driver, that can take some weekend racing abuse. smile.gif

You wont get that kind of time even with a beta engine. The best a beta can do N/A with nitros is 14.5 if you bought an accent your shcnitt outa luck as far as getting that kind of time. Doing a beta swap wont make much of a diff. You need nitros or turbo...thats it...nothing else you can do with Hyundai engines to make them close to the competition.
I think you might want to check with Key Motorsports on that one...when they ran the 97-2k1 Tiburons, they used the Beta, Naturally Aspirated and were supposedly putting down around 200hp at the wheels. That should be good enough to get an Accent with a Beta swap into the 14's, N/A.
The Beta should be good for at least 200hp N/A, but it's going to take some work and ingenuity. Cams would be a HUGE step in the right direction if we could just get our hands on a good set easily in the US. That and the darned ECU...the only good way around that right now is a Haltech or equivalent, and that is costly.

Guys, think about it. An accent is several hundred pounds ligher than a Tiburon or Elantra. Throw 140 horsepower into it, along with the intake/header/exhaust combo, and you could heave an Accent into the 14's fairly easily.
Hell, a stock BETA thrown into an Accent could probably nail down mid 15's.
If you did the I/BTB/BIM/cam/H/E treatment, you could probably roll into the mid fourteens with decent driving. If it's not fast enough, spray on it

some of you weren't around during the fxtreme days but there was a guy (silvergt) running 13's in his x3 accent. it had extensive n/a mods no forcecd induction at all. he still has the car but i don't think it is running up to par as it used to, i believe he is on the bottle now also so no telling what he is running.
also suprgtr's accent was pulling 13's with her supercharged x3. this car is not around anymore, they sold it but kept the supercharger.
