Default looking to slam the accent in spring...

My accent has 2" lowering springs and their okay, but this spring I want to drop the car to the ground. I do realize i have about 2 options here and i will go into detail with that now.

1. Cut Springs- YES I KNOW THIS IS SKETCHY, but there are no lowering springs out there(that i know of) that are lower than the ones i already have. I do realize all spring rates will be gone and this may actually be unsafe. But you cant argue with the fact that its free, lol.

2. But Expensive Coilovers- This is actually what i didnt want to end up doing but we will see. Ksports are pricey. and I wanted to check on here to see if anyone had any they would be willing to give up before i drop 900 and some change oh them. If anyone has any better ideas for me that would be great.

cars going lower this spring/summer idc how it happens lol

thaaaanks and floyd i know youll be reading this and i know you have ksports and im jealous

As long as you can deal with the compromises involved, cutting springs is hardly the worst thing you could do. I'd cut springs before installing a permanent compression clamp, for example.

I would suggest cheap coilover sleeves before cutting springs. That'll also let you adjust your ride height.

I had a friend get a set of those cheap coilover sleeves for his del sol. I don't remember the brand but holy sh*t that was a horrible ride after. However, compressing any spring that much (to include the expensive stuff) would probably cause that.. heh

You could always get an air suspension. A good kit will run you around $1200-$1500, which is around the same price as really good professional quality coil overs. The air suspension will drop your car right to the ground when you want it to be that low, and with a flick of a switch, be back up to driving height. Something to think about.

I don't know about the LC, but the X3 suspension varies. From 95 to 97 and 98 and 99. The 98-99 should be the same has the LC.
