It's is the same engine and all that jazz It just has different plastic under there. It actually looks a little bigger under the hood than that of the LC's. I Looked at a crashed MC in hopes of getting a motor with 53 miles on it but They have CVVT and I'm not interested in opening that can of worms.
I had an 08 Accent till it got totaled and I replaced it with a new 09 and the intake
pipe looks shorter/collapsed more then my 08 was. I know they made some changes to
the 09 to get a better MPG rating, but I'm not sure what that was. There is more different
then just the engine cover, everything looks shifted a little.

I have the AEM on my '08 and I like it! a little pricey though at $300! Fit well and went in easily though! I am just wondering if the AEM dry filter is as good as a K&N! ??

Rob...definitely go with the K&N if you can. There has been tests and comparisons done by auto magazines, and the K&N came out on top. Its a bit pricier, but you get something thats top of the line and proven to give results in performance. smile.gif

Well thank ya! smile.gif I just happen to have 2 K&N's from a double intake I had on my Vett, and they are just sitting on the shelf! You know where one of those babys is going!!
Thanks!

The Accent is faster! smile.gif Actually I still have my Vett, bought the Accent when gas prices were stupid, and also want to keep the mileage down on my other vehicles! I gotta say, I love drivin the Hyundai! I started driving in the 70's and me and all my friends were all driving japanese cars then! Even though it is kinda snail like in comparison to my other cars, I enjoy the hell out of it! Runs like a clock, drives smooth, nice and quiet.....except fot the intake though, but I like that!
