got exhaust yesterday.
hey guys i got a magnaflow exhaust installed with 2.25 crush bent piping from my 02 sensor back. it sounds really good. just a bit raspy if i rev it real hard in nuetral but if i'm moving it sounds real deep. and it's not loud which is what i wanted to stay away from.
also it pulls alot harder now. me likey.

Cool... I bet your Accent sounds wicked now.. I just had mine done Friday with 2.25" pipe and my ApexI-N1 muffler.. I noticed a nice little increase at the mid and high range. The sound is great at the low end and sounds better than my 95 F-150 with a flowmaster muffler and dual tips setup. I also noticed that after about 4500 RPMs my intake takes over on the loudness scale. smile.gif All in all a great mod.

Hey ruben, I think the "raspy" sound that you describe is simply because the piping isn't mandrel bent. In most of my experiences with exhaust setups that are crush bent, they all seem to sound raspy at low speeds and low gears. It almost sounds ricey until you hit the higher gears for the lower growl. I believe this is because there are multiple sections of the cat back that are restricting the flow of the rest of the straight tubing, therefore creating a subtle pseudo-whistle which you call "raspy". However, it is in fact arguably deeper and meaner. A great way to get performance without having to pay outrageous $400 prices for mandrel bent tubes. rolleyes.gif
Keep up the good work, I bet it sounds crazy...

I went catback for now. I've been waiting for a month or so for the 4-2-1 headers to come in so impatience got the better of me. :-) I wish I would have had my digital camera with me. I could have taken some pics while they were installing the cat back. Oh well, when I go back to have the headers installed I'll make sure to take some pics underneath the car.

oh and i'm not gonna post pics for a while caause i don't have a digi cam. i got a scanner but i don't want to take 27 pictures of my exhaust. frown

ruben: Did you have the 2nd cat removed on your accent? Or did it even have 2 cats? I went and had my second cat removed and now it defiently sounds raspy at 3,000rpms and up. I may go tomorrow and have a 25" glasspack welded in.
