Does the 98 Hyundai Accent have a Rev limiter?
I have a 98 accent, and it seems like i have no rev limiter. Did they even put them on there? and if so what is the limit? I've had mine up to 5,500 RPM. I figured it should have kicked in by then
Well, the redline's 6,000 rpm on the SOHC Accent engine, at least it is on my 97... I've accidentally revved my engine to a little over 6,000 rpm once, and there didn't seem to be a rev limiter or fuel cutoff. I'd say no, but someone else might be able to give a more definitive answer.

I've had some folks claim 6500. My OBD-ii software records between 6800 and 6700 when I bounce it off the rev limiter, the highest I have hit without it cutting of is 6750.
I dunno if it is a US/Canadian thing, or a different year thing or ????.
