Hyundai Accent Forum The Hyundai Accent Forum. Hyundai's little champ. While the Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Excel may be small, they respond very well to aftermarket modifications and is among the favorites for Hyundai tuners.

Default Decisions, decisions...

Ok, so here's my question, and I'm starting an informal poll: As you may have read, I am about to order my Beta motor w/clutch and flywheel. HOWEVER, I was just offered the chance to buy a 1984 Datsun/Nissan (dual badging, since it was the first year) 300ZX for $500 from one of my pals from trashcanistan. And my wife is making me choose between the two. My first inclination is to buy the 300Z, since it's the first year, I've always wanted a 300Z (to match my 78 Datsun 280Z), and it's an AWESOME price. HOWEVER, since I respect all y'all's opinion and whatnot, figured I'd throw it out there and see what other people's opinions were. I understand it may be a wee bit slanted, since this IS a Hyundai forum, but...

Unless you are getting rid of the Hyundai to make room, go for the 300ZX. Engine can wait for later when there's another pile of money.

What condition is the 300zx in? Is it rusted out, going to need a lot of work, or halfway decent where you could accept having it and working on it here and there? If its a car you always wanted, and you have the money, I'd rather jump on a dream car and put the Accent back to stock. Do what you want, think it over, and don't do something you would regret later! B)

That's pretty much what I figured. Appreciate the input, ladies and germs! I just bought the thing. It's in good, drivable condition with some cancer spots on the fenders. Big deal. That's why God invented Bondo, right!?!

My friend had a 300ZX. I LOVE the car however he was reporting tons of issues with it. That combined with rust... the car is a little heavy, and takes a lot of fuel. He ended up selling it because it was too much of a money pit.

The choice is yours. It would be easier to judge if you had photos of the car.

Not that big a fan of the Z31 body style, but the Zs are classic. And for $500 you really can't go wrong.

To be honest, after I finish the Tib I want to get a DR30 before the price on 2 door tekamen goes totally insane.
