Hyundai Accent Forum The Hyundai Accent Forum. Hyundai's little champ. While the Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Excel may be small, they respond very well to aftermarket modifications and is among the favorites for Hyundai tuners.

Default Big problem...

Last night I was driving around, hit a small hill and the engine stalls. Got the check oil light and a engine light and the engine just stops. I tried starting it up again and it would turn on for about one second then turn off again.

A few residents tried jumping the battery but that didn't work. Finally I removed my custom air box thinking it wasn't getting enough oxygen to start, and the car started but man was it going so slow...like i would floor it and the thing barely went anywhere, and it wouldn't change gears either. I drove it home but then the engine light came on solid. And when i change gears from park to drive, there's a huge THUD noise. The AT fluid is black. i'm getting it towed to the dealer tonight..2010 hatchback.

Did the AT fluid get too hot and too much friction went into the transmission causing it to blow?

All good, I still got...130,000 left on my warranty. So if anything happens, I'm alright. I'll stop auto-launching it tho lol. Any components that I can upgrade so I can auto-launch without fawking anything up? like a upgraded torque converter or something?

maybe one to many of these? Hopefully they will not see signs of abuse and use that to void it on you.

That does sound really bad.. hard to say what it is for sure without a code. However, black fluid and stuck in gear, yikes.

Could be a few things. Doesn't sound good though. Let us know what the dealership says.

Just because you stopped doesn't mean you didn't cook the oil, burn up something, and caused this down the road. Driving like a clown can be fun but can break things. I had very little clutch left when I pulled my XDs at 40k because of me driving like an ass. Also, accelerating like a goofball is worse than hauling ass at a steady speed (unless you take that to an extreme)

As far as abuse.. it depends on how far they look into it. Probably a bad idea to show up with rubber in the wheel well, etc. Or you may get a dealer that wants to test your knowledge of warranty law and say your recent upgrades were to much for the trans.

Just because you stopped bad behavior doesn't mean the damage goes away. If you stop having sex with a chick with the clap, you're going to be infected still. Good luck with a warranty claim, and be sure not to mention driving like a nut to the service department.

27,000km on the odometer. Im positive theyll replace the transmission without an issue. Thr only upgrade they'll see is the catback exhaust which i doubt effects transmission.

I did read that accent auto transmissions are prone to overheat anyway.
