backyard oil flush?

backyard oil flush?

head mechanic told me to use 1/4L tranny fluid and idle the car for a bit before i change the oil to remove the varnish on the lifters. i've heard of that for older cars, ny body tried it?

I use at in mines, about 500 mi before oil change.

If I was going to do something like that I would use a flush.
