Default Air bag light on?

Do any of you guys have it on? Mine doesn't want to go off.

Was wondering if this was a hazard, how can this be fixed?

It can be diagnosed/cleared by dealers and maybe a high end scan tool. In most cases, the airbag simply won't go off.

I was just asking because my friends light went off and couple weeks later his air bags went off while his mom was driving . I didn't want my air bags to explode in my face while driving with out getting into an accident.

it could be something as little as a wire loose or a fuse going bag but still get it looked at to be on the safe side.

being a major safety system, air bags are always worth looking at. worthwhile trying a scan tool first to see what you can get though. sure you can repair most stuff with airbags, but i think its for the best to have your safety systems working properly!!

Airbags are basically 3 main parts. The module the sensors and of course the airbags. Depending of the safety level of the vehicle as to how many sensors and airbags there are, causing more wiring and plugs. You need to Know what fault code is logging so you can have an idea where to look. Most commonly it is either high resistance through a plug, faulty clockspring or seatbelt pretensioners.

If you can tell me what code you get I might be able to help you further.
