I have a 2002 accent gsi 1.6L DOHC. I bought a 2.0L from a 2002 elantra. The wiring scares me a little bit. I've matched up all the plugs and there the same. The only different one was the crank sensor (which I have). And I know your supose to use the 1.6 coilpacks. All the other plugs camshaft sensor, tps sensor etc are all the same. Is there something I'm missing? I'm continuing to use a MAP base because both engines have. Someone help.

Well then I would assume it would be pretty easy for someone to tell me if the wiring Is
As easy as I think it is. Don't really have time to read through five hundred threads.

Yes, use your 1.6L harness and repin it at the ecm plug if you are gunna use the 2.0 ECM. My 1.5L 2002 accent was swapped with a 2002 elantra so ive been down this road.

If your gunna run the 1.6L ECM you are loosing out on the full potential of the engine power, after all the ecm is tuned to run the 1.6L, not a 2.0. If you are gunna use the 1.6L ECM follow this swap

This is a myth, you can use the Beta coil packs, The plugs just have to be repined, very easy.
The Idle Speed Actuator needs to be repined to be correct, yes the plug is the same but 2 wires need swapped around. Im looking at schematics right now helping out another Beta swapper, looking at the Beta 1 Pin out you need to swap pin 1 and 3 at that plug. I know, you have a Beta 2, same deal. Other then repining your coil plugs I believe that these are the only plugs under the hood that need repined to the proper order.

Thanks a lot for the help man, I appreciate it. So I'm probably just going to use the 1.6L ecu for now.
What needs to be changed if I do that? What I'm going to do is drop the engine in and level it, then weld
The Mount. Blocking everything of course.

So after changing those wires up, will it run? And same on the coil packs you use the 1.6l ones and just swap
The wires on each one?

Sorry about that, that's just what I heard. So I can just use the 2.0L coil packs and just swap the wires on each?

hyundai2002, you are finding one of the 'features' of hyundaiaftermarket.com: all of the information is here. Sometimes we will even give you links if we're feeling generous. But people start to get personally offended when, having done all the work and gone to the trouble to write it up and answer all the questions, you don't want to read what they wrote.
Read, think, read again, then come back with a specific intelligent question and the people who have done it before will be happy to help. If you refuse to go to some trouble to read what they/we have written, you will probably start getting flamed.
