Default $1000 for mods to a 1.6L 2001 Accent

Hey all,

What would you do with $1000 for mods to a 1.6L 2001 Accent GSI (That is the Canadian tag). Anyway, I will be doing some work on my car and I want input. Here is what I think.

Cold air intake
Cat back exhaust
plugs
mod chip
high flow fuel pump

What do ya think?

this same question has been asked probibly 100 times or more... do you see where im going with this? Search

CAI is good... i recomend the "Random Special" <-- again, do a search
Catback is good
plugs.... i wont go there.
mod chip lol -- Anyway;
high flow fuel pump rolleyes.gif ... theres no reason for this mod with that little bit of engine hops. go with a BBTB, BIM, and headers.

The Random special design doesn't work on the accent. The bends are too sharp for the Flexable exhaust tubing, and there is no 'easy' route to the fenderwell. All the accent intakes I have made have been metal or PVC.

I would go with Headers, Exhaust, and then ship your IM and TB to OnPol to see what he can to to bore them out. I would also send him an intake manifold gasket so he can have the machine shop gasket match your IM.

Headers, and exhaust with a new muffler.

Those mods should eat up your $1000.

I've read on a previous post on this board that the beta swap might not be trivial for his car...

A certain company is working on the swap for the new accents, but it will be a lot more than $1000.

Get yourself a cat-back, header, and an intake. That should take care of your budget. If it doesnt, get springs too.
