Just in the past couple of days, i have noticed when my car is cold, and i back up, there is a funny sound that comes from my car. It is like metal scraping against some other metal. Please help, it is annoying, and only when it is cold.

Can you identify what part of the car the sound is coming from? Back or front? Does the noise change with Engine RPM or just wheel RPM or neither?

If you go from Reverse to N, and let the car "coast" backwards...do you still hear the sound?
If you reverse in a large parking lot, and "rev" the engine in reverse does the sound get louder/faster? If you drop it into N while going fast in reverse is the sound still there?

So the noise happens if the car is in N or R. And the noise gets higher pitched the faster you go.
Sounds like your brakes are dragging up front. If you let the car "roll/coast" to a stop, does the noise lower in pitch with the wheels slowing down.

I think you are right, i asked my dad about it, and he thought it was the brakes. I have to get them replace anyway, so i'm gonna see if they will pay for the conversion on the back.
BTW, how much should this cost? Can I do this my self? I can fix some stuff, and i have a friend that is real good at it. and What kinda stopping distance decrease can I expect?

The Big Brake upgrade will not shorten your stopping distances much, as it is more to prevent brake fade, and to improve brake pedal feel.
Same with the rear Drum to Disc conversion. The rear tires do only about 20% to 30% of the braking when trying to stop quickly, due to the weight transfer to the front end. So upgrading them is really more for reduced brake fade and better pedal feel, plus some "appearance" and "bragging rights" thrown in for good measure.
The rear conversion is rather easy, the hardest part is installing/adjusting the parking brake cable.

Next time you go out to drive your car take a look at the rotors when it is cold out and or damp rust forms on them like instantly and since there is very minimal clearence between the brake and the rotor it makes a scraping sound like metal on metal until the rust is worn off. It happens with mine all the time in the cold but never in the summer so I'll bet thats your problem too.
