vibration at 3100
whatever gear i am in, while accelerating, at around 3100 rpm, the whole car will vibrate to the sound of the engine. Just for a second, and then it passes. its like for a second the car has no sound deadening. its annoying. well, except when sometimes i am in the mood, and tickles my balls. But still.

All objects "resonate". You just need to find the right frequency. It sounds like yours is at whatever vibration the engine puts off at 3100 RPM.
There isn't much you can do about it short of installing some sound dampening material, or installing firmer or softer engine mounts (softer would be a BAD thing, and no one makes harder mounts).
If you can...get a passenger (sometimes hard to come by) and have the passenger listen while you freeway cruise at 3100 rpm or thereabouts. Have the passenger touch all the various differnt dash console, and center console bits and pieces to identify the loudest bits. You can then try to adjust them or install foam to dampen them, and see if you can make the sound more livable.

same vibration (rear view mirror) in my car.. about 3100 rpm and only under load. Neutral it's fine. I got so pissed off at this HUGE rattle that was happening at about 4000rpm, but it just turned out to be a loose cd case in my passenger door map slot. grrr did i feel stupid. wink.gif
