Default Random HELP ME OUT!!!

Random, I just found out about 10 mins ago that my 1997 Tib is an A-Spec Tib. I had alread bought the extra pipe and everything I needed to put my filter in the fender!!! Well as you know the A-Spec already has something weird in the fender. What can I do here to get cooler air, away from my engine bay???? Or anybody that is familiar with this, please help me out here!!!!! Oh yeah and my car is a manual 5 speed

I don't believe that there is any "advantage" persay for those of us with A-Spec engines...it's just a small difference in the layout of certain engine components. Double-check by searching the previous posts on this forum, but I believe that all the major aspects (cams, timing, number of cylinders) are identical. We just have older first-generation Tibs than the rest of you.

The "Revision A" tiburon has...in our limited experience with them...shown to have a more reliable clutch than the other 1997's.

You CAN still relocate your air filter there. You will just be forced to use 2.5" piping...and add in an extra "angle" to that tubing to move the filter away from the Evap Canister in the fenderwell. Basically...angle the CAI so that the opening is FORWARD toward the foglight, rather that just terminating right inside the fenderwell.

Random, you have an A-Spec, do you have pics of the extended pipe for some ideas?

The only one I've done was for my dad's car. He didn't like the noise, so he took it off and "lost" it somewhere in his garage.

Basically, it would look JUST LIKE a normal CAI that ends in the fender well, just add a bend on to it to move the air filter towards the front bumper.

Also...2.5" tubing will fit in there, but if you go larger, it will not fit between the Evap canister and the Metal framing of the fender.
