Default Oil become gooey?

When I open the oil cap I saw this gooey substance on the buttom of the cap, is this a sign of a bad head gasket? or is it something to do with not properly cooling the engine before turning it off? I have a turbo installed recently and drove about 100 miles without properly cooling the engine. I also want to mention that the turbo is deffective.

Does the rest of the oil look like that? If not, it's condensation. Nothing to worry about. If the rest looks like that, plenty to worry about.

To answer the question as it was asked, yes that can be a bad head gasket. What does the dipstick look like? And how does the oil smell?

Oil on the dip stick looks fine, I'm not really familiar with motor oil so not really sure how it suppose to smell, I do see white smoke but could just be caused by the cold weather. Half way down around the engine looks wet with oil, car has been at the shop for more than a month but dont remember those to be wet when I drop off the car more than a month ago.

Check your coolant level and do an oil change since your putting the car up anyways, that will tell you the whole story.

White smoke, aside from cold starts, means burning coolant. That cap, besides condensation, means coolant leak at the head gasket, get my drift.

If you drain your oil out and it all looks like that, the shop will be getting you a new motor if you play it right.

You said the turbo is bad... Is it water cooled? It could be the head gasket, or it could be oil and water mixing in the turbo center section if it's water cooled and defective.

It's Oil Cooled only I havent check the coolant inside the radiator yet, but the coolant on the reservoir is full. I pulled the dip stick and the oil looks fine. Since the turbo is broken I haven't been driving the car too much. Short trips might have just caused the condensation, new Turbo is currently being installed so we'll find out more after turbo is installed

Nope ... i'd definitely do the oil change before the new turbo went on.
