in my truck my spare tire keeps on rubbing and making this noise.. i was wondering what can i do to stop it from rubbing against the metal to cut down the nose i spray wd 40 in there and i did work.. any suggestions...thanks

 

Is it screwed down with the retainer all the way? If it's still loose with that, then maybe putting a rubber washer on the retaining bolt between the spare and the retainer might give it enough extra squeeze to keep it still.

Or, you could line the area of the spare well where contact is being made with something. Hell, even just the soft side of adhesive velcro or adhesive felt would do the trick!
