Well...I didnt' look for any instructions on the net prior to the install. Thus, I was pulling on my dash to get it far enough away from the gauges so I could get the cluster out and I didn't know about heater control cable. So, in the end I ended up snapping the rod that goes through the heater box and controls the temperature...also I couldnt' turn the knob because the cable was jammed up in the dash.

In other words to fix it to stock specs again would require them to rip apart my whole dash, pull out the heater element and replace that shaft..blah blah. Today at the dealer they at least got the cable free so all I have to do is *hopefully* high-temp epoxy the shaft back together and get it working again. I asked the mechanic if he could do that but they're always "to the book" etc. I knew it would cost me but I didn't think it would be over $400 or so. ugh. sad.gif

Try a junkyard for the part, or www.stcharlesauto.com

Then spend a weekend ripping your dash apart.

Uh...And I think we need to send you to anger managment classes. I can't imagine how hard you had to yank that cable to break the cable and the shaft.... eek.gif

LOL! Yeah..you should have seen me yesterday after I heard the news. I broke 5 ribs of a co-worker. j/k

But..I FIXED it!! WhooHoo! I got some high-temp epoxy and about a half-hour of time and I can defrost my windows and keep passengers warm! (I like the cold..just have to keep visitors warm, especially girls "I'm too cold!")

I also got some parts for :[projekt aeliux]: yesterday! double woohoo!
